# Stripe: charges without a PaymentIntent are invoiced, and `external_payment_id` can start with `ch_` or `pr_`

A charge without a PaymentIntent, or a Stripe invoice paid outside Stripe, is now invoiced; its `external_payment_id` starts with `ch_` or `pr_`, not `pi_`.

Both used to be skipped. If your code assumes `external_payment_id` is always a PaymentIntent id, accept the `ch_` and `pr_` prefixes too. A dispute on a charge BeeL. did not invoice is no longer an incident: there is no invoice to correct.
