When it happens

You tried to change the format of a series that has already numbered at least one invoice (numbering_locked is true). Changing it would break the continuity of the numbers already issued.

How to fix it

Create a new series with the new format and make it the default if needed.

Do not retry. The outcome is final: sending the same request again gets the same answer.
